Stasis

Amidst the thick blanket of silence
A thousand words in an empty room
To a non-existant audience.
The oppressive pressure from silent walls
Takes breathing to its claustrophobic heights.
An assumed make believe play
To let the hands of time pass,
To wait out the trickling minutes.

A thousand words in an empty room,
A thousand reason, and a hundred logic,
To scrutinise the many universe,
Which your dice has split,
As you flipped it last.
What was lost and what was gained,
Are kept away for the future.
Leaving the present a tangled web
Of empty lines with unruly imaginary knots.

Frozen in the web of unspoken words,
Reasoning with your locked self.
Convince your soul you were right,
The world is at fault if it does not conform.
 But with no one to refute, You are always right,
As you bounce around the frozen walls,
Confined by your destined demise,
The eventual coma creeps.
The colourful worlds of prophesy,
Are but a fairies' dream,
Which you choose not to believe,
But alas, in your empty little world,
None can fight your little faults.
