Creeps up on you silently,
Like a vampire hunting its prey.
Courses up through the veins
With pace ever so slow,
Too mild to notice,
Till you are transfixed
In the ever-tightening grip,
Of the anaconda of past moments.
And as you reminisce with still eyes,
Your heart and mind sway
Like the swells of a cyclone’s surge.
Fleeting through brief flashes of memories old,
Some sweet, some bitter,
Which are known only to you;
Pulling heartstrings from depths forgotten.
You watch time fly by, still,
As you scroll down the Jumbled reels
Of myriads of movies you have starred in.
Courses up through the veins
With pace ever so slow,
Too mild to notice,
Till you are transfixed
In the ever-tightening grip,
Of the anaconda of past moments.
And as you reminisce with still eyes,

Like the swells of a cyclone’s surge.
Fleeting through brief flashes of memories old,
Some sweet, some bitter,
Which are known only to you;
Pulling heartstrings from depths forgotten.
You watch time fly by, still,
As you scroll down the Jumbled reels
Of myriads of movies you have starred in.
In the end,
You get up, to march onwards,
To the future second,
Leaving back the the ageing kilobytes
Of your fleeting memories.
With a content smile
Or perhaps a tear.
To the future second,
Leaving back the the ageing kilobytes
Of your fleeting memories.
With a content smile
Or perhaps a tear.
