My World Of Glass

My world of glass, built on lies,

All so shiny, blinds your eyes.

Trinkling colours of rainbow dear,

Whispers sounds you softly hear.

Sparkling shining high and tall,

Crumbling bases, withered wall.

Shaking legs and shattered shield,

Still on flimsy lies I build.

A brick of lie follows a lie again,

And yet I build with deep disdain.

And lose myself in this falsehood drained,

I like to dwell in the sweetness gained.

The mythical green all around me,

Fills with joy and pride and glee.

Till I look at the darkened skies,

I remember these are all but lies.

The weight of lies are heavy to take,

The image I keep is hard to break.

Maintain I must the falsehood vain,

With baleful lies on top again.

And how much I wish I had not lied,

The first brick which I lay and cried.

But clean a dress none can wear,

Lies will branch out, I swear.
