New Dawn

Wise words fail my mind,
As I sit down to unwind,
Penning down a trickling thought,
Which the tired eyes brought.

The fairies of day kissing goodnight,
Silent body, but the mind bright.
Eyes half closed, Avalon's call,
Cloudy lullaby, barriers fall.

Incoherence of speeding lights,
The dumb mime's silent fights,
Pushing past the falling rain,
To search for a warm grain.

Fading away shimmering sun,
As the diver's lungs do burn,
Cold sea walls pressing hard,
Requiem from the deep blue bard.

The diver fights the coming sleep,
In the sea you cannot weep,
Tears are lost in the salt around,
Then you feel the vast surround.

Sudden burst of energy free,
Streaming up the mind's tree,
Rising up! the buoyant prince,
The defeated enchantress sings!

And as sleep takes its final tolls,
The mumbling poet finally falls,
To wake to a tale of new polished brass,
With new dew, on the same old grass.
