Darkness laps the fringes of my door,
Frigid nights come and go,
Silence descends like a heavy curtain,
As the midnight hymns ring out.
Drowned in overwhelming stillness,
The tired mind ever alert,
The envelope of thick fresh air,
Chokes you to death.
The moon glides by the watery sky,
Ripples of starry lights spread across,
The night bird's screech
Awakens you from a slumber deep.
There are many a miles to go,
Over terrains rough and old.
But tonight,
the dark veil stretches forever,
Tonight,
You stop the eternal fight.
Tonight,
You sail the moonlit lands.
Gliding through the meadows black,
You turn not to see its shade of green.
Tonight,
Everything is black.
Frigid nights come and go,
Silence descends like a heavy curtain,
As the midnight hymns ring out.
Drowned in overwhelming stillness,
The tired mind ever alert,
The envelope of thick fresh air,
Chokes you to death.
The moon glides by the watery sky,
Ripples of starry lights spread across,
The night bird's screech
Awakens you from a slumber deep.
There are many a miles to go,
Over terrains rough and old.
But tonight,
the dark veil stretches forever,
Tonight,
You stop the eternal fight.
Tonight,
You sail the moonlit lands.
Gliding through the meadows black,
You turn not to see its shade of green.
Tonight,
Everything is black.
