Sally

Dark skies floating by,
Sally on the hillside,
Red streaks on violet moon,
Lights her face up.

Rains on frozen face,
Sally's tears drain down,
Dark minds hovering on
She searches a tree strong.

Sally O sally, why do cry,
And sully your white gown,
The pretty curls wet with mud,
Why slip on fresh dewed grass.

The shadows you chase,
Are not yours to keep,
The song you crave,
Is not yours to sing.

The night falls on evening sky,
Sally on the hillside,
A blissful empty smile,
Adorns the face pained with life.
