Run wild, You will fall,
At first it will hurt,
You will be cut, You will bleed,
Kind strangers with sympathetic eyes
Will rush forward to pick you up.
When the strangers leave,
You will be alone, left with your pain.
If it hurts too much, run to the rain,
And cry your heart out with a smile,
The unknown passing traveler
Will smile alongside you and walk by.
You will fall again and again,
The world may leave You behind,
Time waits for none.
But keep running, don't stop,
And with time your soles will thicken.
The next fall will hurt less,
The next one You barely feel,
Until you realise you are not falling anymore.
The blocks don't halt you,
You don't break a stride,
You may still fall,
But You will get up fast
As if the fall was just a dream.
It is then that You will leave the world behind,
And world will try to catch up to You.
But You don't have time for such silly games,
You are too busy running these grassy plains,
Beneath the blue sky,
Towards the golden sunset,
Fuelled on by the smiles of those who love you true,
And the smiles of every kind stranger
That had lent you a hand.
You greet the rain with open arms,
And this time You truly smile,
Without having to hide the tears of pain.
If you happen to see a lost soul trying to hide
In the rain like you once did,
Return the smile back and propel them on.
Walk slowly,
Let the rain smother you,
The burnt heels will hurt no more,
As you keep walking on.
