The day was as dark as the night,
Desperately we searched for a light,
The wind howled all around,
Drowning us in its sound.
Lightning set fire to the cloud,
Streaking through the blackened shroud,
Scared we stood beneath the dome,
Hoping we all could return home.
The fire raced down the grassy slopes,
Burning trees, beasts, and hopes,
Huddled in the shack afar we witnessed,
Caught in Her dance, the few blessed.
Desperately we searched for a light,
The wind howled all around,
Drowning us in its sound.
Lightning set fire to the cloud,
Streaking through the blackened shroud,
Scared we stood beneath the dome,
Hoping we all could return home.
The fire raced down the grassy slopes,
Burning trees, beasts, and hopes,
Huddled in the shack afar we witnessed,
Caught in Her dance, the few blessed.
