From an innocuous desire to an obsession,
Curiosity drives its wrenching claws,
You actually believe you are meant to,
And you feel liberated to pursue.
Life floats by in its twinkling haze,
Disconnected from the mundane,
You rise up not just to sleep again,
You are chasing the ghosts unknown.
Cyclones lash their merciless tongues,
Castles break beneath the rip tide,
The sand returns, eventually,
And you keep jogging past them all.
Foolish magpies shower sympathies,
Whose cause and meaning elude you,
You dare not explain or reason,
They wont understand why you run.
Keep flying, keep free,
Leave the waves behind,
Look up at the sunshine,
And welcome to the grind.
