The locked room

Silent the piano rang,
Through the hallway empty,
Dust parted as footsteps fell,
Through the hallway empty.

Lost in the grasses tall,
You search for the path,
No matter where you go,
You cannot escape her wrath.

To the locked room let us go,
To find your lost grace,
The silent mirror gently waits,
To reflect your true face.

If you do get lost in there,
In the labyrinth of your mind,
Remind yourself of your self,
Let not the chaos bind.

The locked room has it all,
The answers that we seek,
Questions you never asked,
Of this life now so bleak.

As you cross the hallway bare,
The piano grows stronger,
Madness levelled to screeching din,
The keys in hands do falter.

You turn the key, the door ajar,
A deathly silence follows,
The man in mirror is not you,
Its strange and full of hollows.

You know not the up from down,
The world spinning around,
Tables turned, chairs thrown,
Thoughts darting abound.

Falling back on the cold stone floor,
The warm furnace to the right,
Memories burn to feed the flame,
Yet there is so less light.

You get up and dust your pants,
Which you wore many years back,
The time when you had locked the room,
With its secrets in a sack.

Glowing orbs of floating dreams,
Forgotten hopes and memories stashed,
You sink deep in the maze of craze,
The lines that held now slashed.

Unknown rooms you never knew,
You had built in recesses dark,
Incomplete marvels lost in time,
But all of it bears your mark.

As the silent mirror gently shows,
The lost thoughts clean,
You realise everyone of us has,
A locked room unseen.
