As I straddled along on my evening walk,
I had failed to see the clouds,
And no sooner had I reached the park,
I could feel the falling sounds.
A smile of loss streaked down by face,
The heavens were toying again,
Looking around I saw a big Banyan,
And sought its refuge from the rain.
She was slow in her first few drops,
I laughed inside at the fleeing flock,
Hurrying away in search of a roof,
Soon there was none left in the block.
The ensuing emptiness was strange,
I have never been stuck amidst falling rain,
The Banyan had spread out its caring leaves,
Underneath, I was a king, with no restrain.
The clouds were drifting in greyish locks,
A beautiful slow piano floated in head,
The drops followed my playlist's trance,
No better song could have played in its stead.
And as I drowned in the ethereal show,
The rain had started to come down more,
The leaves were aching to keep them out,
It was all for saving me though, I am sure.
Soon a few drops broke the Banyan's racks,
I could feel their little victorious cries,
But I was happy to be under their siege,
Not all are lucky to play with Her sometimes.
The piano had slowly picked its pace,
The drops were following in grace,
And I decided to accept my fate,
And ran towards a building straight.
And as I looked from the opposite side,
At the empty spot under the Banyan tree,
I felt a bit sad, the game had to end,
And waited out the drizzle, with my heart content.
